Chukwuemeka Ndubuisi “Emeka” Okafor is a former basketball player who played 10 seasons in the NBA. He was the 1st round (2nd overall) pick of the 2004 NBA draft behind Dwight Howard.

Throughout his NBA journey, Okafor played for the Charlotte Bobcats (2004-09), New Orleans Hornets (2009-12), and Washington Wizards (2012-13).

In 2013, due to a herniated disc in his neck, the Texas native basketball player remained out for three seasons (2014, 2015 & 2016).

Even if he made a return in the 2017 season, he struggled with gameplay that saw him a brief time in the NBA G League’s Delaware 87ers.

Although Emeka made his NBA return in 2018 with the Pelicans, it didn’t work out. So, he signed with the Korean basketball club Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus (2019-20) before retiring.

She is three years older than her husband Emeka, born on September 28, 1982, which makes his age 42 now.

Now, Okafor resides in New York with his wife and two kids.

His spouse, Ilana, is busy taking care of children. According to her LinkedIn profile, she formerly worked as a director of Public Relations at BDA Sports Management.

Also, she worked as a PR manager at Phat Farm/Russell Simmons and in the NBA.

An alumnus of Danbury High School, Ilana Okafor graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001.
