Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward is making headlines off the field and not for the right reasons.

The 33-year-old NFL veteran was arrested in the early hours of June 12, 2025, following serious allegations made by his fiancée.

Her identity has not been officially confirmed, but is rumored to be Cristy West, a woman with a complicated and very public past.

Jimmie Ward Was Arrested After Assaulting His Fiancée

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a 4:30 a.m. call at Ward’s residence in Magnolia, Texas, where his fiancée alleged that Ward had assaulted, strangled, and threatened her.

Authorities arrested Ward on charges of assault, family violence, and impeding breath/circulation, a third-degree felony in Texas.

The victim has since filed an Emergency Protective Order, signaling the seriousness of the situation and the potential danger she fears.

The Houston Texans have issued a statement acknowledging the arrest:

“We are aware of the report involving Jimmie Ward. We are gathering information and have no further comment at this time.”

Ward has been released after posting bail at $30,000.

Jimmie Ward’s Fiancée Is Speculated To Be His Baby Mama, Cristy West

While law enforcement has not released the name of Ward’s accuser, speculation has centered around Cristy West, a figure who’s no stranger to public controversies involving high-profile athletes.

West and Ward share a child, Juvie, born in 2022, and have reportedly been dating for several years.

But this is not the first time West’s name has been associated with allegations of domestic abuse.

Before rekindling her relationship with Ward, Cristy West was romantically involved with NBA center DeMarcus Cousins.

Their relationship ended in scandal when, in August 2019, West filed a police report claiming Cousins had threatened to “put a bullet” in her head after she refused to allow their son to attend his wedding.

Audio recordings supported her claims, and Cousins faced an arrest warrant in connection with the allegations.

West also claimed Cousins had choked her during a previous incident, prompting her to file for a protective order.

Interestingly, West, Cousins, and Ward all grew up in Mobile, Alabama.

West attended C.F. Vigor High School, while Ward went to Davidson, and Cousins to LeFlore.

Reports suggest West and Ward were on-and-off for six years before she got involved with Cousins.

Some say West returned to Ward after her split from the NBA player, rekindling their original romance.

In 2019, West posted a photo with Ward captioned:

“Spend life with someone who makes you happy. Not with someone you have to impress.”

Their relationship seemingly stabilized in recent years, with the birth of their son in 2022.

Jimmie Ward’s Future Remains In Question

As the investigation continues, the NFL and the Houston Texans are likely to be closely monitoring the situation.

The league has historically taken disciplinary action in cases involving domestic violence, and Ward could face suspension or worse if the allegations are substantiated.

Meanwhile, questions remain about Ward’s future with the Texans as he signed with the team in 2023 and is under contract through this season.

With an Emergency Protective Order in place and felony charges filed, all eyes will be on how this case unfolds, both legally and professionally.
