South Carolina Soccer Community Mourns Jerry White, 50, Devoted PRAA Coach and Family Man

Jerry White, a longtime Porter Ridge Athletic Association Soccer coach and South Carolina resident, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the untimely age of 50.

While the actual reason and cause of death of Jerry White are not yet available, many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late soccer coach and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Jerry was born Jerome Francis White on December 7, 1974, in Livonia, Michigan, to parents Thomas H. White and Maryanne White began his sports journey from a very young age.

He played multiple sports, including soccer and golf, during his high school and college years before beginning his career as a soccer coach. Jerry was a longtime resident of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Furthermore, Jerry White was not only known for his amazing coaching journey and athletic skills but also for his kind and helpful nature.

The untimely death of Jerry White has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.

PRAA Soccer family took to its official Facebook page to recall the memories of late coach Jerry White.

The post reads:

“Coach Jerry was more than just a coach—he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend to many within our PRAA soccer community. His dedication to our players, families, and the game itself left a lasting mark that will not be forgotten. He brought wisdom, patience, and heart to every training session, and his positive impact on the lives of countless young athletes will live on.Jerry coached with us for many years, sharing his love for soccer and shaping the values of teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship in every child he worked with. Beyond the field, he was a kind and thoughtful man who was always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His warmth, wit, and generous spirit made him a cherished member of our PRAA family.”

Jerry is survived by his beloved fiancé, Elizabeth Bitsy White, his two adorable daughters, Emma and Julia, former wife, Susan, parents, Thomas and Maryanne White, brother Thomas White II (Amy), sister Theresa Waldron (Jeff), nephew Bryce Waldron, nieces Leah Waldron and Madelyn and Olivia White, as well as three aunts and several cousins.

The late Jerry White Served As a Senior Consulting Sales Director for Genesys

In addition to his coaching career, the late Jerry White also excelled as a consulting sales director.

Jerry White was serving as a senior consulting sales director for Genesys/Interactive Intelligence for eight and a half years before his untimely death. He joined the company in 2017 and also earned the Inspire 2022 President’s Club Award.

Prior to Genesys, Jerry White served as a client principal of Avaya in Mathews, NC, from August 2016 to February 2017. He also served as an Engagement Manager of Interacrive Intelligence for almost two years.

Likewise, before joining Interactive Intelligence, Jerry White worked with Avaya for over fifteen years in different positions, including program manager, customer service engineer, and client principal.

He joined the company in 1998, after earning his BS in major accounting and business management degree from North Carolina State University in 1997.

Jerry White also earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2014 and was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, where he loved his fraternity brothers.

  • Jerry White’s memorial and funeral service will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277.
  • Family will receive friends and loved ones from 10:00 am until 10:45 am with a Eulogy beginning at 10:45 am, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
