A wrestler at Rock Hill High School, Phallyn Magby, died at the age of 20 in a motorcycle accident.
Phallyn Magby represented Rock Hill at the 2020 Invitational and competed in Girls Bracket S.
Entering the tournament with a first-round bye, she advanced directly to the semifinals, where she faced Lesly Aldaco Avila of Bluffton, securing a win and moving into the finals.
In the championship match, she went up against Ja’Leyah Holmes from Goose Creek, a strong opponent who had also advanced via a fall victory.
Despite her best efforts, Magby was defeated by a fall in the final, earning second place in the bracket.
Wrestler Phallyn Magby Passed Away In A Motorcycle Accident, Leaving Everyone Devastated
As per the reports, a wrestler at Rock Hill High School, Phallyn Magby, 20, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, due to severe injuries she suffered from a tragic motorcycle accident.
She was caught in an accident in July 2025 and was placed in the ICU for a month.
Dana Jacobs, an instructional designer at Telecommunications, took to her official Facebook handle and announced the tragic news. She wrote,
Today, we lost a former and truly loved Rock Hill High athletic training student, Phallyn Magby. Please say a prayer for her family and friends. Please conisder donating to her GoFundMe to help her family pay for medical bills from being in the ICU for a month.

Cain Beard, who works at Rock Hill High School, also took to his Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Phallyn. He wrote,
Please keep the family and friends of Phallyn Magby in your thoughts and prayers. Phallyn passed away this morning. She was on our first ever girls wrestling team in 2019-2020 and was a state runner-up at the Carolina Invitational. The picture below is from the first time the Rock Hill women competed in a tournament. They would go on to win the Carolina Invitational team title, setting the bar for what was to come. Earlier, on July 11, 2025, Kimberly Wallace from Buffalo, New York, organized the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe to help Phallyn’s family with medical bills.
The campaign aimed to collect around $10k, and it collected $8,250.

Phallyn Magby Is Survived By Her Mother, Phaedra, And Her Brother, Darreion Magby
Rock Hill High School wrestler Phallyn Magby was born in May 2005 to her mother, Phaedra Jones, and her father, whose identity has not been revealed.
Her mother, Phaedra, is a versatile holistic stylist, herbalist, aromatherapist, and lymphedema warrior, as per her official Facebook handle.
Recently, Phaedra took to Facebook and mourned the tragic death of her daughter, Phallyn. She wrote,
BabyGirl my SweetThang🩷🩷💔💔 My Phally-Girl spent the last 30 days of her life in the hospital fighting, having a conversation with God. She was tired. For 30 days she looked like she was just resting, she never did wake up and say, “Mama, I’ll be ok” . Yesterday I held her hand & rubbed her face as she peacefully took her last breath. Jesus……… 20 years just wasn’t long enough.

Phallyn is also survived by his brother, Darreion Magby, who lives in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and went to Rock Hill High School.
He is also mourning the death of his supportive sister, Phallyn Magby.
