Quin Marsh, the Missouri Teen Softball Player, has been declared a “Rapid Responder” by her mother while she is on a journey to beat Cancer.
On July 2, 2024, Missouri’s Teen Softball Player, Quin’s mother, Amanda Hardie Marsh, shared a heartwarming message that her daughter has lymphoma. She held her hands firm and trusted God about the future; she also said many prayers for her child.
She said she even cried due to the overwhelming love and support she received from her family and friends, and again hoped for the best outcome.
Great Progress For Quin
From the start of July, she continued to update about her daughter’s situation as she received overwhelming support from hundreds of people. After the PET and CT scan, it was declared as a stage 2 cancer. Even with a heavy heart, the Softball player was still up for the Fireworks and Crawdads.
After spending a couple of nights in the Children’s Mercy Hospital in Missouri, she was discharged.

The family celebrated the small milestone by bringing her balloons and gifts, a grand gesture to uphold and increase her confidence.
For another couple of weeks, she was not as active, but shared things about the Chemo session and her health status.
“I am learning so much on this journey, and I feel led to share a bit. First of all, take your babies to church and teach them about the lord. Twice no,w Tim and I have heard Q blaring Christian music in her room and singing her heart out. She is relying on God for strength. Unfortunately, Tim and I can’t go through this for her, but God is in her heart, and He is with her through it all. There will be moments in your children’s lives where they won’t have you, and they need Jesus to make it through,” she added, praying and thanking god.
After three weeks of her first post, Amanda told Quin she had her second treatment, but didn’t let cancer fool her, as she enjoyed swimming, running, and even attended dinner with her big Family. The lump on her neck was also reducing rapidly, which was a great sign.

On August 27, Amanda had great news to share with everyone who had prayed for her daughter’s better health.
“Dr. Lewing called us this morning and shared that the scans she had yesterday showed that she is a “rapid responder” to treatment,” she said, suggesting the Chemotherapy was working well and killing the cancer cells.
“The radiologist said that there was no cancer showing up in her neck and that the spot in her chest (originally 11cm) was shrinking dramatically. There will always be something visible due to scar tissue, so scans will always reveal something. The news really couldn’t be better,” she added.
Amanda also didn’t forget to mention someone who had been listening to all her prayers, God. Quin will also undergo a trial for immunotherapy or Metamonic therapy.
Quin’s mother again expressed gratitude to the community for their support, whether financially, mentally, or emotionally.
“As we look ahead at the next few months of continuing to fight this disease, we need to keep Quin as healthy as possible. She needs school and activity for her mental health, but when there is sickness going around, we will need to do our best to protect her from that. If her immune system is down, then she is likely to pick up an illness that could affect her lab work and possibly keep her from taking a treatment, and prolong this process for her,” she added.
The mother also hopes for the best for the next year, which is approaching faster than expected. However, at the same time, she apologizes for maintaining a small distance from the people, as a precaution, since she doesn’t want to hinder her daughter’s rapid progress.
Amanda, who is also a Special Education Teacher at the Chillicothe R-II School District, knows exactly what her child is going through, emotionally and physically. Hopefully, she will share more great news in the upcoming days or weeks and be back on softball field as soon as possible.
