While the exact cause of his death remains under wraps, POWW Entertainment announced his passing on July 29, 2025.
However, as per the post by his nephew, he passed away after a long and courageous battle with rheumatoid arthritis.
Sunset Beach, California native, Rick was not just a performer; he was a cornerstone of regional wrestling.

Rick “Paradise” Pera was a professional wrestler, trainer, and former commissioner for POWW Entertainment.
Well known in the regional wrestling world, he debuted in June 1988 and appeared in promotions like NWA World Championship Wrestling.
He wrestled under names like Rick “Paradise” Pera and Ric Paradise, and even faced big names like Shane Douglas.
Known for his tag team and elimination matches, he frequently teamed with wrestlers like Jimmy Blaze and The Next Generation Patriot.
He was part of a notable moment in 2003, when he and others tossed prize money into the crowd after a battle royal at CCW’s first show.
Moreover, he participated in memorable events like POWW WrestleRage V (2007).
His last recorded in-ring appearance was at POWW Summer Explosion on June 21, 2008, where he teamed with Jimmy Blaze and Brandon Bishop in a six-man tag match.
After that, there are no documented matches or public appearances in wrestling promotions. This might mean he quietly retires sometime after mid-2008.
Besides wrestling, he trained young wrestlers such as Chris Cairo and Justin James.
Rick was not only respected for his time in the ring but also for his work behind the scenes.

Words truly can’t describe the pain I’m feeling. I lost the man who was a second father to me and my brothers. He raised us from an early age and instructed us on how to become men. He never stopped teaching or giving advice, even when I didn’t want to hear it. Rick “Paradise” Pera was more than just a uncle, he was a leader, mentor, and a coach.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, IL.
A prayer service will be held during the evening at 7:30 PM.
