In 2015, he chose Oregon from many offers, including Portland State and Montana State. While competing in college football at Oregon, he won the 2019 Pac-12 Championship and earned the title of MVP in the 2020 Rose Bowl.

In addition to his football career, he also maintained his academic excellence. He earned first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American honors with a remarkable 4.08 grade-point average in biology.

Moreover, Patrick secured the starting tight end role in 2022, contributing six receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. 

In a conversation with NFL Network, Justin Herbert commented on his brother, saying, “My young brother was going to be on the team and — I don’t want to give him that much credit, but — he did play a big part in it. He’s a special player, and he’s going to be incredible. He’s going to be the best of the three brothers, and I’m really excited to see where he’s going to go.”
