Okmulgee Head Coach Dolphin Davis’s 18 Unpaid Tickets Lead to Arrest: Sidelines to the Jail

Dolphin Davis, a head football coach at Okmulgee High School, has been charged with a handful of misdemeanors after his weekend arrest on August 23, 2025.

Glenpool Police stopped him for speeding on U.S. 75 and arrested him after discovering that his license was suspended due to 18 unpaid citations.

Davis began playing football at Tulsa Washington High School, where he was a two-way powerhouse.

Afterward, he joined the University of Central Oklahoma and had a breakthrough game at Texas A&M-Commerce in 2009. He was a second-team All-Lone Star Conference North Division pick in 2010.

Davis was a prime pass-catching threat and a key cog in the offensive attack. Later, he became an assistant football coach at Tulsa Public School.

Moreover, he coached at Nathan Hale High School, East Central High School, Will Rogers College High School, and Booker T. Washington High School.

He became the head freshman football coach at McAlester High School and joined Avila University as a defensive backs coach in August 2024.

Nonetheless, he began serving as a head football coach at Okmulgee High School in February 2025.

Dolphin Davis was Arrested After a Traffic Stop

Dolphin Davis was stopped for speeding on U.S. 75 and was arrested following a traffic stop in Glenpool.

His driver’s license was suspended due to 18 unpaid tickets, and the head coach also told officers he did not have car insurance.

Police say a search of Davis’s vehicle found an open bottle of wine and another open sports drink bottle containing liquor. The report noted officers saw no indications of intoxication.

According to Muscogee Nation District Court records, he now faces five misdemeanor charges, including driving with a suspended license, no insurance, and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage.

Moreover, he is also due in court for a previous seat belt violation

Davis was booked into the Creek County jail and released after posting a $1,800 bond.

Okmulgee Public Schools has not yet commented on his arrest.

He also worked as a program coordinator and career instructor, blending his corporate experience with his passion for education.

Beyond these jobs, Davis is also a business owner. Since 2018, he has owned and operated Vision Lawn and Property Restoration.

He has successfully ventured from service-oriented jobs to corporate roles and finally into entrepreneurship.
