University of Oklahoma football head coach Brent Venables has been married for 27 years to his wife, Julie, with whom he shares four children.

The couple have been together since their university days at the Kansas State University, where they first crossed paths.

The college sweethearts dated for a significant period of time, and their love grew into a long-lasting marriage.

Over the years, the pair have stood the test of time and supported each other throughout life’s journey.

The two have become a family of six now, with their two sons, Jake and Tyler, and two daughters, Laney and Addie.

Brent Venables and His Wife, Julie, Have Been Married for Almost Three Decades!

Brent married Julie in July 1997 when Brent was the linebackers coach at their alma mater.

The couple welcomed their first child, Jake, in 2000 and their second son, Tyler, in February 2002.

Later, in 2008, the pair welcomed their daughter, Laney, and after a year, in 2009, they celebrated the arrival of their youngest, Addie.

Throughout Brent’s coaching career, his wife supported him and is a great mother to his kids.

Moreover, she is also a successful professional in her own right in addition to being a supportive wife and a loving mother.

According to the report, Julie even worked in the health sector as a nurse in several reputed hospitals.

Unfortunately, in 2023, the Oklahoma coach disclosed that his wife, Julie, was fighting breast cancer and had undergone surgery recently.

Julie was first diagnosed in June, and she has been getting multiple treatments since then. Brent has been there for his wife and his kids all through his wife’s battle against cancer.

After a series of treatments, in March, Venables reported that his wife was cancer-free, saying,

I’m doing routine blood screenings, but right now there’s zero cancer, We had a great team of doctors and nurses and things of that nature. She’s tough as all get out. She has been doing great

However, recently, in November 2024, Brent announced that his wife’s cancer had returned again.

Julie went under surgery to remove a tumor that month, and her husband still continues to show her support, saying,

A big part of the battle was her wanting to just fight and keep swinging, and that’s what she’s doing.

Later, in the 2023 UFC games, Brent and his staff wore pink and even painted the two iconic pink ribbons on each end zone as a dedication to Breast Cancer Awareness.
