In a recent TikTok video, the Panthers linebacker shared his go-to dating tip, and it’s not what you’d expect from a defensive powerhouse.
Princely Umanmielen, the NFL rookie now suiting up for the Carolina Panthers, has made headlines with an interview with the Carolina Blitz.
In a recent interview that offered a candid look into his upbringing and mindset, Umanmielen opened up about growing up in a household of four brothers, why that shaped how he talks to women today, and the R&B artists he keeps on repeat.
Princely’s Working On Getting Better At Talking To Women
When asked what it was like growing up in a family of four boys, Umanmielen didn’t hold back. “I Didn’t Have No Sisters, So…Aggressive,” he said with a laugh.
“A lot of times when I’m talking to females, they be like, ‘You don’t know how to talk to [us].’ I’m like, I didn’t have no sisters — so I don’t, you know what I’m saying?”
The linebacker reflected on the high-energy, competitive environment that defined his childhood. “It was a great experience growing up with all brothers,” he shared.“My little brother’s at Ole Miss right now, my big brother plays arena football, and my youngest is in high school trying to get offers.”
But he admitted he wasn’t always thrilled about the all-brother lineup. “When my mom was pregnant with the youngest one, I was mad he was a boy. I was tired of having brothers,” he joked.
On Music, Dating & Finessing
Umanmielen also showed a softer side when asked how he’s improving his conversations with women.
“The finesse gotta be there,” he smiled. “I’m working on it. I’m trying to get better at it.”
So how does he set the mood when he’s talking to girls?
“A little Luther Vandross, you know what I’m saying? And Darnell Jones — ‘Where I Wanna Be.’”
The answer quickly went viral because when an NFL rookie linebacker says he’s setting the vibe with R&B legends, people notice.
