His father was frustrated over the length of the suspension, and he planned to withdraw from UCLA. After leaving UCLA, he prepared for the 2018 NBA draft with his father.
On December 11, 2017, he signed with Prienai of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and went scoreless in his professional debut against Lietkabelis.
After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft, LiAngelo signed with the Los Angeles Ballers, where he was named to the West roster for the JBA All-Star Game.
The Greensboro Swarm selected him with the 14th overall pick in the 2021 NBA G League draft. Later, he joined the Charlotte Hornets for the 2022 NBA Summer League.
On February 14, 2024, he announced signing with the Astros de Jalisco of the Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacífico in Mexico, but left the team due to a ligament injury in his left ankle.
Afterward, he launched his musical career under the stage names G3 and GELO and released his debut single, “Tweaker,” on January 3, 2025. He also signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings worth up to $13 million.

They married on March 24, 2025, and announced their separation on June 15.

In April 2023, he and reality TV personality Nikki Mudarris announced they were expecting their first child together.
