In June 2015, the Houston Rockets selected Montrezl in the second round of the NBA draft, marking the start of an impressive journey.

Over the years, Montrezl played for several NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Clippers (2017–2020), Los Angeles Lakers (2020–2021), Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, and Philadelphia 76ers.

His international career took him to the Adelaide 36ers, Xinjiang Flying Tigers, and Gigantes de Carolina, with a second stint at Adelaide.

In November 2024, during a game against Melbourne United, a brawl led to racial abuse directed at him via an anonymous Instagram account.

The accused is set to appear in court on August 15, 2025.
