Former C.W. Baker High School Graduate & Marathon Runner Reginald “Reggie” Rawls Jr. Passed Away at 40, Leaving Behind His Partner Katie Curinga !

Marathon runner Reginald Rawls Jr., affectionately known as Reggie Rawls, took his last breath unexpectedly on February 18, 2025, at 40 in Baldwinsville.

Born in Syracuse, Reggie Rawls is survived by his partner, Katie Racquet Curinga; his father, Reginald Sr., of Baldwinsville; his mother, Pamela (Edward Slowik) Goult of Syracuse; and his stepfather, James Goult.

Reggie was a self-employed contractor and a devoted family man. He took great pride in his work and was admired by all who knew him for his craftsmanship.

His passion extended beyond his work to his hobbies. Reggie was an avid runner, having competed in hundreds of 5K, 10K, and half marathons throughout upstate New York.

Reggie was a well-known figure in the tight-knit running community, as evident from his social media posts. His Facebook posts predominantly featured updates about his marathon events.

In addition to his love for running, Reggie had a thing for cars, particularly his cherished Ford Lightning.

His enthusiasm for cars was matched only by his love for his dogs, Luna and Rip. The joy of coming home to someone eagerly waiting the entire day to play with him excited him.

Above all, Reggie was a family man and prioritized his family over everything. He cherished spending time with his loved ones.

Reportedly, Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville.

Likewise, a funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, February 26, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, followed by burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Marathon runner Reggie Rawls was in a relationship with Katie Racquet Curinga; however, details surrounding their relationship timeline remain unknown.

They maintained a low-key relationship away from the media scrutiny.

After his sudden passing, Katie updated her Facebook profile with his picture. Soon after, her posts were flooded with messages of condolence and support during this difficult time.

She has excelled in various roles and has showcased her expertise in business management, strategic execution, and leadership.

Katie is the Senior Vice President of Business Management and Strategic Execution for Global Onboarding at BNY, a global financial services company.

She climbed the corporate ladder at BNY over 18 years, demonstrating exceptional client service, strategic planning, and leadership skills.

Starting as a Senior Client Service Representative, she advanced through roles such as Client Services Associate, Team Lead, Global Resourcing Lead for the KYC/AML Program, and VP of Strategic Execution & Business Planning.

Her dedication and expertise culminated in her current position as Senior Vice President of Business Management & Strategic Execution for Global Onboarding.

Before working at BNY, Katie was the Head of Marketing and Business Development at DR Landscape & Home.

She graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a B.S. in Marketing and Economics. Likewise, Katie earned her master’s degree from Le Moyne College in 2011.

In addition to his significant other and parents, Reggie’s passing is mourned by many, including his brothers, James W. (Nicole) Goult III and Anthony D. (Caralie Pallone) Goult and his maternal grandmother, Mary Graveline. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.
