Montana Helena Klein Yao, the former wife of NBA star Malik Beasley, was born on August 5, 1997, in Newport Beach, California. She is the only child of Paul and Gina Yao.

Paul is originally from Hong Kong and migrated to the United States in 1965, and served in the U.S. Army. Gina has a rich European heritage, including English, Irish, and German, and is an entrepreneur, co-owning the global brand JaggerEdge.

Montana was raised in California and graduated from Malibu High School in 2015. She later won Miss Malibu Teen USA 2016, and subsequently placed in the Top Ten at Miss California Teen USA.

After securing good feedback in Pageants, she started her modeling career with Newmark Models, appeared in campaigns for brands like Zara, and also explored music, releasing a rap video that went viral in 2016.

Date, Marriage, And Divorce

Montana began dating NBA guard Malik Beasley, a first-round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, in 2018. They welcomed their son Makai Joseph Beasley in March 2019.

In March 2020, the couple married when Montana was 22 and Malik was 24. However, their marriage faced challenges.

However, in November 2020, photos showing Beasley with Larsa Pippen sparked a cheating scandal.

Montana filed for divorce shortly after Beasley publicly apologized in May 2021; however, the couple remained together for a time. “I was looking for more when it was right here the whole time,” said Malik, and things began to look fine.

They welcomed their second child, daughter Mia Love Beasley, in November 2022. On March 4, 2025, just one day before their fifth wedding anniversary, Montana filed for a legal separation. This was the second time she pursued a divorce.

The divorce was finalized later that month. Meanwhile, Malik has publicly moved on and is dating Brazilian-American model Natalia Garibotto.

Natalia Garibotto, the new girlfriend of Malik Beasley, is an Instagram Model with over three million followers.
