The three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams has joined the Las Vegas Raiders, reuniting with his former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, a moment of pride for his parents, especially his father George, who played as an NFL running back in the past.

Adams began his career with the New York Jets as the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

He later joined the Seahawks in 2020, earning All-Pro honors in 2019 and Pro Bowl selections in 2018, 2019, and 2020.

In 2024, he had brief stints with the Tennessee Titans and the Detroit Lions, playing in five games and recording four solo tackles.

Pro Bowl Safety Jamal Adams Credits His Parents, Father, a Lexington Sports Hall of Famer, and Mother Michelle, for His Success!

George Adams is a former NFL running back and the proud father of Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams. Born on December 22, 1962, in Lexington, Kentuck.

George made a name for himself as a standout football player at the University of Kentucky. He played for the Wildcats from 1981 to 1984, earning First-Team All-SEC honors during his senior year.

His performance caught the attention of the NFL, and he was selected 19th overall in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.

He played with the Giants from 1985 to 1989 and was part of the team that won Super Bowl XXI. Unfortunately, his momentum was interrupted by a severe hip injury in 1986.

After his time with the Giants, he spent two seasons (1990–1991) with the New England Patriots before retiring from the NFL.

Following his football career, George Adams remained connected to the game through youth development and community sports.

On the other hand, his mother Michelle Yvette Adams grew up in Yonkers, New York. Apart from this most of her details seem to remain out of media light.

However, she consistently supported Jamal athletic journey, encouraging not just his physical growth but also shaping his character.

In additions to her support, Michelle and her husband George co-founded G.A. Giants, a youth flag football program in the Dallas area, using his experience to mentor young athletes.

G.A. Giants contributions to sports and the community were recognized when he was inducted into the Lexington African-American Sports Hall of Fame.

Moreover, Jamal has often credited his father for helping guide him through the highs and lows of football, while also warning him about the physical risks of the game, drawn from his own experience.

In a heartfelt message to Jets fans following his first Pro Bowl selection in 2018, Jamal Adams expressed deep gratitude for his parents’ guidance, saying,

“I’m very fortunate to have a father that went through it before I did and he’s helped me so much along the way. He’s always in my corner when I’ve needed him. Whether it’s good or bad, he’s going to be honest with me. He’s always been honest, as has my mother. She’s more into football now and tells me what’s going on and what I could’ve done better. I appreciate both of them.”

As a parents, both George and Michelle played a major role in shaping Jamal Adams’ athletic journey. From a young age, Goerge trained Jamal, while his mother instilling discipline, passion, and mental toughness required to succeed.
