George made a name for himself as a standout football player at the University of Kentucky. He played for the Wildcats from 1981 to 1984, earning First-Team All-SEC honors during his senior year.
His performance caught the attention of the NFL, and he was selected 19th overall in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
