Landon Dickerson, an American professional football guard for the Philadelphia Eagles, has a lot of respect for people who are first responders.

His father was a firefighter for 30 years, and his mother has been in nursing all of her life.

Dickerson was named first-team All-State and played in the Under Armour All-America Game as a high school senior.

Later, he committed to playing college football for Florida State over offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Georgia.

During the training camp at Florida State, he was named the Seminoles’ starter at right guard and became the first true freshman offensive lineman to start a season opener since Jamie Dukes in 1982.

However, he opted to transfer to Alabama as a graduate transfer, where he was awarded the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s best center.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the second round with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and signed a four-year rookie contract on July 26, 2021.

Dickerson was selected for his first Pro Bowl in December 2022 and helped his team reach Super Bowl LVII, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

He won a Super Bowl championship, defeating the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22 in Super Bowl LIX.

Landon Dickerson’s Parents Are The Foundation Of Support And Service

Landon Dickerson, the son of Jim Dickerson, was born on September 30, 1998, in Hickory, North Carolina.

He has made a name for himself in the NFL with his toughness and dedication, but behind his success are his parents, who have been a constant source of encouragement and inspiration throughout his journey.

This mindset of selflessness and perseverance shaped his work ethic, both on and off the field.

Landon has spoken highly of his parents’ careers, expressing deep admiration for first responders. It is a value instilled in him by their parent’s example.

His father served in fire rescue for 30 years, while his mother has dedicated her life to nursing.

I have a lot of respect for those people. They spend their lives, they spend their careers just wanting to help other people.

This mindset of selflessness and perseverance clearly shaped his own work ethic, both on and off the field.

Despite facing multiple injuries in college and the NFL, Landon never wavered. His parents encouraged him through setbacks and reinforced the resilience that has defined his career.

Moreover, they are moving to Tennessee, but the football guard isn’t sure that he’ll be going back there any time soon.

Nonetheless, Landon keeps many family details private but his parents’ commitment to service and their belief in him have played a crucial role in his success.

Landon Dickerson Gifted His Father And Grandfather a Gravely

Many professional athletes splurge on luxury cars, massive mansions, or flashy jewelry, but Landon Dickerson has his sights set on a different kind of investment: a zero-turn riding mower.

He could easily pay a landscaping company to handle his lawn or the lawns of multiple homes. He could probably buy the landscaping company outright.

But instead, he’s choosing to do it himself because for him, mowing isn’t just a chore, it’s a passion.

Furthermore, he’s spreading that passion to his family. Earlier this mowing season, Landon gifted his father a Gravely mower as an early Father’s Day present.

Likewise, he also surprised his grandfather with a brand-new Gravely for his 80th birthday, honoring the man who first inspired his love for a well-manicured lawn.

He’s investing in quality time, family traditions, and the simple joy of a perfectly cut yard, and everyone welcomed him to the riding mower club.

Got Dad a mower! Big thanks to @gravelymowers for helping me surprise my dad with an early Father’s Day gift this mowing season. #MowTheDistance
