Kevin Durant, an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets, hasn’t been in a public relationship since his engagement to former WNBA player Monica Wright in 2013.

However, they ended their relationship, and Monica married Michael Rogers.

Kevin, also known by his initials KD, ranks eighth among NBA career scoring leaders and was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

He has won two NBA championships and two NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Awards. Moreover, he has been named to 11 All-NBA teams and selected 15 times as an NBA All-Star.

Since childhood, he was tall and began playing Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball for several teams in Maryland. Later, he committed to playing college basketball for the University of Texas at Austin.

The Seattle SuperSonics selected him as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft, and he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year at the end of the 2007–08 NBA season.

On July 7, 2016, Kevin signed with the Golden State Warriors and went on to win two NBA championships. Later, he signed a four-year contract with the Brooklyn Nets on July 7, 2019.

The Nets traded him to the Phoenix Suns on February 9, 2023, and then to the Houston Rockets in a seven-team trade on July 6, 2025.

My time in Phoenix has come to an end. All these stops along the journey have really impacted me in a positive way. Remeber it’s a world behind the scenes, and those who make things work in that space, work tirelessly to make our lives easier as players. I appreciate all the quick interactions with everybody from support staff to teammates distant cousins, it’s all a family that I’m grateful to be apart of, no matter what. I truly believe this nba is a one big community. Much love to Arizona. Houston, Can’t Wait!

Kevin Durant’s Past Engagement to WNBA Star Monica Wright

Kevin Durant has kept his personal life out of the spotlight in recent years, but there was a time when his relationship was very much in the public eye.

He was engaged to former Minnesota Lynx WNBA player Monica Wright in 2013, which marked his last confirmed serious relationship.

The couple seemed to be heading toward marriage after Kevin proposed, but by 2014, they had called off the engagement. Their split surprised many fans, but both athletes later admitted that they weren’t the right match.

Monica opened up about the breakup in 2014, explaining that she had to make a difficult decision for herself.

Yeah, in my last relationship [with NBA All-Star Kevin Durant], I had to make a decision about compromising myself as a woman. I had to make a decision to leave a relationship, which a lot of people thought I was crazy to leave. There was a lot of criticism over it. But I think God had my back in it.

Kevin also reflected on their relationship, acknowledging that he struggled with how to love Monica properly.

I had a fiancée, but…I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways.

Furthermore, Kevin believes his introspective nature may have played a role.

He has described himself as an overthinker who cares deeply and needs constant reassurance in relationships.

Since their breakup, the NBA star has remained relatively private about his dating life. Fans can only speculate whether he’s still healing or prefers to keep things low-key.

Kevin Durant Was Rumored To Be Seeing Angel Reese

Kevin Durant has long been one of the NBA’s most private stars when it comes to his personal life.

Unlike many of his peers, the two-time NBA champion has never been married, doesn’t have children, and rarely speaks publicly about his romantic relationships.

While fans often speculate about his dating life, most rumors stem from social media chatter rather than confirmed facts.

Recently, one such rumor linked Kevin to WNBA star Angel Reese. The speculation began after the two were photographed sitting next to each other at a basketball game in London in July 2024.

At the time, Angel was just 22 years old, while Kevin was 35, leading to raised eyebrows and swift assumptions. However, Angel quickly shut down the rumors, making it clear that there was no romantic involvement between them.

The incident highlights how eager fans are to see the NBA star settle down. His love life remains a topic of fascination, while he continues to focus on his legendary basketball career and business ventures.

Kevin’s career is as active as ever. He recently starred in Netflix’s “Court of Gold,” a six-part docuseries that follows the journey of Team USA and other international squads competing for gold at the 2024 Olympics.

The series offers a rare glimpse into his competitive drive and even his more introspective, softer side.
