Kenny Omega Credits His Parents For His Successful Career Although They Remain Lowkey Away From Media

This article was last updated by on

Tyson Smith, known as Kenny Omega, is a professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He attributes his successful career to his parents, especially his father, who encouraged him to pursue his dreams.

A fan of Japanese culture, Kenny, recently teased a special reunion with President Hiroshi Tanahashi.

The professional wrestler hinted at a possible team match with Hiroshi Tanahashi to face The Young Bucks at the upcoming Wrestle Dynasty event.

From a young age, Kenny was captivated by professional wrestling. He often watched WWE tapes and dreamed of becoming a pro wrestler himself someday.

He reportedly played ice hockey during his childhood and started wrestling training as a teenager.

Over the years, he wrestled for several promotions, including DDT Pro-Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Pro-Wrestling Guerrilla, and more.

Kenny Omega’s Parents Don’t Belong To The Sports Fraternity But Have Been His Biggest Cheerer!

The celebrated professional wrestling figure Kenny Omega was born to his parents, who don’t belong to the sports fraternity, in Transcona, Winnipeg, Canada.

His mother reportedly works in family services, and his father works in a Canadian government transport office.

Kenny revealed in an interview with Sports Illustrated that his mother and sister weren’t big wrestling fans.

However, it was his father who encouraged his love for it by taping episodes of Saturday Night’s Main Event for him when he was a child.

When they had Saturday Night’s Main Event, it was my favorite show. It was on too late for me, so my dad would always tape them and it would be ready for me to watch at six in the morning.

His father, in particular, influenced him in discipline and focus. Kenny credits these early experiences with his father with fueling his passion for pro wrestling.

Though Kenny doesn’t often discuss his parents in detail, they have been supportive of his wrestling career from the beginning.

Kenny has been very tight-lipped about his parents, and little to no information about them is available online.

Regardless of Kenny not being vocal about his family, it necessarily doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a sound relationship with his parents.
