Sam Burns, a five-time PGA Tour winner recognized for his victories at the Valspar Championship and WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, is also a devoted family man, alongside his wife, Caroline, and their son, Bear.

For fans searching for “Sam Burns kids,” his story is as much about love and family as it is about birdies and trophies.

The Couple First Met As Young Children In Church

Sam Burns and Caroline Burns, born Caroline Campbell on April 8, 1996, share a deep connection to their hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana.

The couple first met as young children in church, with a sweet memory of Caroline being Sam’s first Valentine at age five.

Though they attended different high schools—Sam at Calvary Baptist Academy and Caroline at C.E. Byrd High School, where she ran track—their paths converged again at Louisiana State University (LSU).

At LSU, Sam was a freshman golfer, and Caroline was a sophomore. Their childhood friendship blossomed into romance, and they began dating.

Caroline was deeply involved on campus, balancing academics with Greek life as a member of Delta Delta Delta.

She also served as a marketing coordinator for Cyber Fision, a sales intern for Southern ICEE, and a marketing intern for Germilion & Poi Integrated Marketing.

In 2018, she graduated with a B.S. in marketing and later earned a master’s degree in counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2020.

After four years of dating, Sam proposed to Caroline on April 19, 2019.

The moment was carefully planned—Sam sought permission from Caroline’s father that winter and enlisted her friends to share photos of rings she might like.

His sister even joined him to pick out the perfect engagement ring.

Just months later, on December 14, 2019, Sam and Caroline tied the knot at the picturesque Palmetto Bluff in South Carolina, surrounded by family and friends.

Sam and Caroline Welcomed Their Son, Bear, After Being Married For Five Years

In 2024, Sam and Caroline welcomed their son, Bear, into the world.

Before the birth of a bear, and as the dad-to-be told the Golf Channel, he withdraws from the competition if his wife goes into labor while he’s still on the green.

Burns added that he and Campbell are keeping the sex of the baby a surprise until the baby is born.

Burns said.

“It was kind of more of her idea in the beginning. I kind of wanted to know, and then everybody we talked to that’s done it, it’s like, there’s not many surprises left in life, and I think that will be a pretty cool one,”

The arrival of their first child brought new joy to their lives. Sam has often spoken about the happiness Bear and Caroline bring him.

In a 2019 interview, he shared,

“There’s nothing better for me than getting home after a long day and seeing Bear and Caroline. I enjoy it so much.”

For Sam, returning to his family after a severe tournament is the ultimate reward, and he’s expressed how winning on Father’s Day would be a dream come true.

Caroline is Sam’s biggest supporter, frequently attending his tournaments, including the 2021 and 2022 Valspar Championships and the 2023 Masters Tournament.

While she keeps a low profile and avoids public social media, Sam doesn’t shy away from praising her on Instagram, calling her his “longtime love.”

Caroline’s support grows beyond the golf course—she’s deeply committed to charity work, a passion she’s held since her college days.

During her time with Delta Delta Delta, Caroline raised funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, a mutual friend reached out to her to enlist Sam’s support for Feeding Louisiana, a nonprofit based in Baton Rouge.

Caroline’s dedication to giving back reflects the couple’s shared values and commitment to their community.

Sam Turned Professional In 2017 And Quickly Became One Of Golf’s Brightest Young Stars

His 2025 season included a strong showing at the U.S. Open, where he held the 54-hole lead but finished T-7 after a controversial ruling on the 15th hole led to a double bogey.

He also placed T-45 at The Open Championship and is gearing up for the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities, which starts on July 24, 2025.

Off the course, Sam sparked conversation with an Instagram post about deer hunting while wearing a camouflage MAGA hat, showing his personality extends beyond golf.

Despite his demanding career, Sam prioritizes his family.

He and Caroline remain rooted in Louisiana, where they both attended LSU and continue to embrace their Shreveport heritage.

Their commitment to their home state is evident in their charity work and the life they’re building together with Bear.

For Sam Burns, success isn’t just measured in trophies—it’s in the moments he shares with Caroline and Bear.

Whether he’s chasing a major title like the U.S. Open at Oakmont or spending a quiet evening at home, Sam’s family is his anchor.

Their story, from childhood friends to loving parents, is proof of their enduring bond.

As Sam continues to shine on the PGA Tour, fans can expect Caroline and Bear to be cheering him on, both on and off the course.
