Before marrying Kellye, Dave was previously in a relationship with Stella Miller Parker, who was considered his common-law wife.

They reportedly lived together from around 1973 and were believed to be married under common law by 1974. Their relationship ended by 1978, and legal proceedings followed, concluding around 1980.

During their time together, Dave and Stella welcomed three children: Carita, Davida, and James.

Although little to no information is known about this relationship, Dave remained connected to all six of his children throughout his life.

His children from both marriages, along with his 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, were part of his celebrated life.

Dave Parker And His Wife, Kellye, Remained Married For Over Four Decades!

The former outfielder Dave Parker met the love of his life, Kellye Crockett, in Cincinnati, Ohio, where Dave grew up and later returned to play for the Cincinnati Reds.

While the exact details of their first meeting remain concealed, it’s known that their connection grew strong in the early 1980s.

Over time, their bond grew stronger, and the couple took their relationship to another level.

Dave and Kellye tied the knot on February 14, 1984, in a heartfelt ceremony on Valentine’s Day. Their marriage lasted over 35 years, until Dave’s passing on June 28, 2025, at the age of 74.

The longtime married couple built a tight-knit family of five members comprising their three children: Dave Parker II, Danielle, and Dorian.

Dave and Kellye raised their kids in Loveland, Ohio, and they were often seen supporting their father at events.

For instance, the Parker family attended a 2024 reunion for the 1979 Pirates World Series team, where Dave received a standing ovation at PNC Park.

Kellye, who studied at the University of Cincinnati, remained Dave’s biggest cheerer through all thick and thin.

She was by Dave’s side through his baseball highs, including winning the 1978 National League MVP award and two World Series titles: 1979 with the Pirates and 1989 with the Oakland Athletics.

Dave often called her “my rock,” showing how much her support meant to him, especially during tough times like his struggles with cocaine use in the early part of his career.

Likewise, she also stood by him during challenges, including his battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2012.

Dave praised Kellye for her role in managing his Parkinson’s disease. He specifically highlighted her dedication to his treatment, stating,

My wife, Kellye, she’s my rock. She makes sure I take my medicine and get to my appointments.

Kellye helped manage his treatments, exercise routines, and doctor visits, showing her unwavering commitment. Together, they started the Dave Parker 39 Foundation to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s research.
