According to reports, the former Oklahoma State football player, Nathan Simmons, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in a hit-and-run crash in Colorado at the untimely age of 48.
Nathan was a running back at OSU from 1995-99, under his father Bob’s leadership, he rushed for 1,990 yards and 14 touchdowns.

On March 10, 1998, Bob Simmons, who was serving as the head coach of OSU Life, was saved by a kidney donation from his loving wife, Linda.
Simmons and his beloved wife, Linda, successfully underwent surgery at University Hospital.
In a statement released by Bob Simmons after the kidney donation, he expressed his love and appreciation for his wife, Linda, who didn’t even think twice before deciding to help her husband.
“I was given a kidney by my wife, wife, Linda, to restore my heath,” said Simmons.
He further added:
“We went into a lot of prayer before this decision was made. We are both doing fine and look forward to the future.”

Bob Simmons stated the surgery went very smoothly, and no complications were experienced, only minor discomfort.
While Simmons did not disclose his medical history or the reason for the transplant, he paid his respect to his wife, Linda, stating that the kidney donation was a loving gift from his wife.
“I want people to know this is not just about Bob Simmons. This is about a loving gift from my wife, and the glory goes to God. Now, more than ever, I am reminded of Luke 1:37 that says, ‘For nothing is impossible with God.'”
