Background Story

Brandon Bair is a former defensive lineman who has played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, and Philadelphia Eagles.

During Thursday night, Bair was reportedly driving around the Idaho area where he witnessed a massive crash. Apparently, a train crashed into a semi-truck.

Following it, Bair had a quick response and called for help in 911 right after witnessing it. Right then, he also jumped into the track to help the people involved in it.

“I got on the phone with 911 and started driving down the median to get to the front of the train when it stopped. It was a conscious decision that I’m going in because he needs help right now.“

Rescue

As soon as the crash occurred, he moved in to help. Indeed, not a scene that anyone would want to get involved in.

However, he moved closer to the place where conductors were getting off the smokey area. Also, he could hear faint talk from the inside of the truck.

“I ran up to the window and saw dripping, hot flames all over inside of the truck. I could see a guy in a seatbelt and be able to reach in and get it off of him. He was talking, and I told him we had to get out of here now.”

“We walked away, and within seconds, the fire on the roof fell inside, and the whole seat and cab went up in flames. A few minutes later, there were a couple of big booms and explosions.”

With these, Bair rescued a young boy after climbing to get him out of the wreckage. Right after it, the workers came to the rescue.

Altogether, they airlifted Jenson to the nearby area hospital, where he was treated. Currently, he is at his good health and in a stable condition.

“I’m a man of faith, and I’ve learned to listen to your gut and the promptings you get. The Lord wanted him alive. Things could have gone different a million different directions, but things worked out on his behalf. That’s my conclusion. Whether it was me or someone else, he was supposed to live.”- Brandon Bair
