A respected figure in the world of hockey, Chris Stansik, passed away on August 24, 2025, at the age of 39, leaving behind his lasting legacy in youth hockey.

While the cause of his death is under wraps, his passing has left a deep impact on the hockey world and all who knew him.

Chris Stansik Was Known For His Leadership On And Off The Ice!

Born on February 07, 1986, Chris Stansik was a talented hockey player and a former Bulldog on the Adrian College men’s hockey team.

His journey began in Livonia, Michigan, where he played high school hockey before being drafted in 2004 by the Lincoln Stars of the USHL.

At Adrian College, he became a key player for the men’s NCAA hockey team in the NCAA Division III program.

During that time, he scored the team’s first-ever goal in 2007 and finished his career with 135 points in 113 games.

A 2012 graduate of Adrian College, his leadership helped Adrian secure four regular-season conference titles, three tournament championships, and a trip to the NCAA DIII national final in 2011.

Chris’s hard work on the ice brought him several accolades during his college career.

He earned All-American honors twice, was named to the All-Conference team all four years, and served as Co-Captain in his senior season.

Not limited to this, but he was also inducted into the Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024.

After college, Chris remained active in the hockey community, not as a player but as a supporter and respected figure within the Adrian College Community.

Additionally, he lived in Livonia, Michigan, as an entrepreneur, where he enjoyed golf, cards, and staying close to the sport.

Following his passing, many former teammates, fans, and coaches expressed their grief.

They remembered him as an exceptional player, a dedicated teammates, and a mentor to younger athletes who always inspired others on and off the field.

Adrian College Men’s NCAA Hockey released a heartfelt statement, saying:

It is with great sadness that we share that former Bulldog, Chris Stansik, passed away this past week.

Stansik was a 2012 graduate of Adrian College where he was a 2-time All-American and 4-time All-Conference selection for the Bulldogs. Stansik was inducted into the Adrian College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2024.

Stansik netted the first goal in program history on October 15, 2007 in a 9-2 win over SUNY Potsdam. He totaled 135 career points in 113 games as a defenseman for Adrian and served as Co-Captain during the 2011-12 season…

Moreover, his former coach, Ron Fogarty, paid tribute to him, saying:

This is the hardest thing to write as a coach. I met Stany in 2007 when I recruited him to Adrian College. A happy, go lucky person, who went all in to take a chance on a hockey program that didn’t exist. He was part of a very special group. He will always be remembered for those around the world dekes, putting us up 1-0, and brightening the room with his huge Stany smile.

Forever a teammate, a brother, a son, and a friend. You will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace.

There will be a memorial mass and viewing on September 4, 2025, at St. Akphonsus Church in Dearborn, Michigan.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Chris Stansik’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest In Peace, Legend!
