Shaelynn Pridemore, a 24-year-old cheerleading coach, was initially charged with a serious crime, Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd Degree.

This crime could have led to several years in prison; however, she ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

It is reported that she was accused of engaging in unlawful intimacy with a minor between the ages of 13 and 15.

Cheer Coach Received Supervision With Strict Conditions!

Shaelynn A. Pridemore was a former cheer coach at Monroe High School.

On September 1, 2023, Pridemore was charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 3rd Degree involving a minor aged 13–15.

Although the charge could carry years of prison time, she later pleaded guilty to two counts of accosting a child for immoral purposes.

The first rumors of an inappropriate relationship between Pridemore and a student surfaced in the fall of 2023.

However, the school and the sheriff’s office found no credible evidence during their investigation of the case.

After almost a year, when the rumors resurfaced, Child Protective Services was involved, yet again found nothing.

Then, on June 7, 2024, the school administration received new evidence suggesting the rumors might be true, which led to her resignation.

On November 13, 2024, she was given a $100,000 bond and scheduled for a court hearing on November 27.

Recently, officials confirmed that the investigation has been reopened after a teenager came forward with compelling evidence.

She has been placed on probation for two counts of accosting a child for immoral purposes.

Despite the severity of the charges, Pridemore did not receive a prison sentence.

Instead, she was handed a probation sentence, which will last until August 14, 2030.

This outcome has raised concerns in the community, particularly given the serious nature of the charges.

While some find reassurance in knowing that Shaelynn Pridemore is now on the sex offender registry, which carries long-term consequences, saying:

I don’t think the sentence was right either but I’m glad she is on the registry that is going to follow her and affect her life in many ways

Being listed means she’ll face restrictions on where she can live, work, and interact, and her record will be publicly available for years to come.
