Fitness influencer Joey Swoll has once again stepped forward to defend gym-goers’ dignity after a disturbing incident at a New Jersey gym.
A video surfaced showing a young man secretly filming an older man fully nude as he exited the shower.
The clip was later posted online, sparking outrage across the fitness community.
Swoll, known for using his platform to call out inappropriate gym behavior, condemned the act in strong terms.
“I was just sent one of the most upsetting videos I’ve ever been sent,” he wrote.
“A young man at a gym in New Jersey thought it was funny to film an older man nude getting out of the shower and post it on his story. I’m not going to repost it. Instead, I’m going to call the gym to inform management and ask them to call the police to file a report as well as find the man filmed. There is NOTHING funny about doing this to someone. It is disgusting, disrespectful, and also very ILLEGAL.”

Swoll’s post quickly gained traction, with hundreds of comments supporting his stance and demanding accountability.
Many praised him for protecting the privacy of gym members and holding offenders responsible.
“Thank you Joey Swoll!!! That is the right thing to do!!!” one commenter wrote.
“I hope the cops find him and press charges. That is absolutely heinous on every level.”

Others stressed that locker rooms should remain safe spaces where members never fear being filmed.
“The gym should be a safe place and filming someone getting out of the shower is a violation of the law and his dignity,” another user commented.
Under New Jersey law, secretly filming someone nude in a private setting, such as a locker room, is a third-degree crime.
Posting or sharing that video online without consent compounds the offense.
Offenders face up to five years in prison, significant fines, and possible placement on the sex offender registry.
Legal experts note that this type of conduct constitutes more than just a prank—it can be prosecuted as sexual harassment or invasion of privacy. Victims may also pursue civil lawsuits for damages.
Joey Swoll urged the gym’s management not only to revoke the offender’s membership but also to involve law enforcement so the man filmed has an opportunity to press charges.
He emphasized that incidents like this discourage people from going to the gym and violate the trust that members place in fitness facilities.
“I don’t understand why this keeps happening in gym locker rooms,” Swoll added.
“I hope the gym finds this man and he presses charges.”

This is not the first time Swoll has spoken out against improper behavior in gyms.
He has built a reputation for defending individuals who are mocked, filmed, or shamed without consent.
His advocacy has sparked a wider conversation about gym etiquette and the growing problem of non-consensual recording.
Many of his supporters believe harsher punishments are necessary to stop such behavior.
“Filming in lockers should be an automatic sexual harassment charge,” one commenter argued, while another added,
“Imagine thinking you posted something funny and now you have to register as a sex offender.”

As the New Jersey gym investigates the incident, pressure continues to mount on management to cooperate with authorities.
For Joey Swoll, this case represents more than just a single violation—it highlights the urgent need for gyms everywhere to enforce strict no-filming policies and protect members’ privacy.
