Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler and reality TV star Kristin Cavallari may have ended their marriage, but neither took a serious financial hit in the process.
In fact, Cutler even joked that he “threw a party” once the divorce settlement was finalized, adding that his “bank account didn’t take a big hit.”
Cutler, who reportedly earned over $120 million during his NFL career, and Cavallari, whose $30 million net worth stems largely from her successful jewelry and lifestyle brand, both emerged from the split financially secure.
Despite past arguments over money, particularly surrounding Cavallari’s ability to purchase a new home, the couple ultimately resolved all disputes amicably.
Jay Cutler And Kristin Cavallari’s Divorce Settlement Revolved Around Financial & Property Details
One major point of contention in the divorce centered on the couple’s real estate holdings.
After splitting in 2020, Cavallari accused Cutler of withholding funds to prevent her from buying her own home.
Cutler, on the other hand, claimed they already had multiple properties and questioned the financial logic of another purchase.
Eventually, Cutler released the necessary funds, and Cavallari moved into a new house, one that made an appearance in a co-parenting Instagram post shortly after the split.
As part of the divorce settlement, Cutler retained the couple’s sprawling Tennessee estate, which the former couple had purchased for a combined total of $5.43 million between 2018 and 2019.
He later sold the 45-acre property in August 2024 for $7.9 million in an all-cash deal, down from its initial listing price of $11 million.
On the other hand, though the financial matters took time to settle, the pair agreed early on to share custody of their three children: Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor.
They each have 182.5 days with the kids annually and split holidays evenly.
The Former Couple Has Now Moved On
Both Cavallari and Cutler have moved on in their own ways.
Cutler briefly returned to the dating scene and, in September 2023, went Instagram official with girlfriend Samantha Robertson.
Cavallari, on the other hand, dated former college football player Mark Estes for seven months before ending the relationship in September 2024.
She later revealed on her podcast that the breakup was due to an “age gap” and long-term incompatibility.
Despite past tension, Cavallari stated in 2023 that she and Cutler were “on good terms” and that their improved relationship had a positive impact on their children.
