Samantha Ponder, an American sportscaster for ESPN, and her husband, former NFL star Christian Ponder, have a unique love story.

ESPN sportscaster Samantha Ponder first talked to her future husband, Christian Ponder, on Twitter.

Furthermore, their relationship moved quite fast, from dating to getting engaged to getting married in the span of just two months.

In an interview, Samantha Ponder explained that her husband, Christian Ponder, who was playing for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL at that time, started sending her messages on Twitter, and initially, she found it weird.

Samantha Ponder stated:

“I’m like, ‘Why is this old Florida State quarterback messaging me? This is weird.’ He was always asking me random questions about living in Austin. Nothing creepy, but that was our original connection. Our version of Christian Mingle was on Twitter.”

Samantha added that when she looked at Ponder’s Twitter page, she realized he was different as he didn’t follow other women.

It didn’t take long for Samantha and Christian to realize that they were made for each other. The couple tied the knot on December 17, 2012, in St. Croix County Court in Hudson, Wisconsin.

They had a small wedding; the couple drove 20 minutes to Hudson, tied the knot, and then ate Arby as their wedding meal.

After tying the knot, the couple went to a Ugly Sweater Party at a local restaurant organized by Christian’s friend.

Samantha stated that they had forgotten about the party, but when one of Christian’s friends texted him, they went to the mall, found an ugly sweater, and went to the party.

However, the couple had a proper wedding ceremony and reception in April.

Samantha Ponder and Christian Ponder are blessed with three adorable children, including two daughters, Bowden Sainte-Claire Ponder and Price Ponder, and a son, Robinson True.

Moreover, Samantha Ponder and her husband, Christian Ponder, welcomed their first child, daughter Bowden Saint-Claire Ponder, in July 2014, almost 2 years after their marriage.

The couple named their firstborn after Christian’s college coach at Florida State, Bobby Bowden.

As soon as they welcomed their child, Christian arranged a surprise call with Bowden to reveal the honor.

Bowden Saint-Claire also has a nickname, Scout, after the young protagonist in To Kill A Mockingbird, Samantha’s favorite novel.

Furthermore, Samantha and Christian gave birth to their second child and first son, Robinson True, in June 2017.

The couple announced the birth of their son through a social media post, where Samantha used David Robinson’s Team USA jersey to wrap her child.

Samantha and Christian named their son after American former professional basketball player David Robinson.

Similarly, one year later, in 2018, the couple welcomed their third child, a daughter named Price.

Samantha and her husband, Christian, often share pictures of their children on social media, expressing their love for their daughters and son.

Regarding her husband, Christian Ponder is currently the founder and CEO of The Post, the only private membership network connecting athletes turned business leaders. He established The Post in January 2021.
