Bubba Wallace, an American professional stock car racing driver, married Amanda Carter on December 31, 2022, and has a son, Becks Hayden.
He was racing in Kansas while his wife gave birth to Becks on September 29, 2025.
Bubba Wallace is a trailblazer in American stock car racing, known as much for his speed on the track as for his impact off it.
He is the first black driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race since Wendell Scott in 1963. He had won at Talladega Superspeedway in 2021.
Moreover, Wallace has solidified himself as a fierce competitor, particularly in superspeedway races. He is driving for 23XI Racing, a team co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and NASCAR star Denny Hamlin.
His racing journey began in the Bandolero and Legends car racing series at the age of nine, progressing through the ranks to NASCAR’s top series.
His influence extends beyond racing. In 2020, he emerged as a leading voice for racial justice in motorsports, advocating for the removal of the Confederate flag from NASCAR events.
His stance earned widespread support from athletes, celebrities, and social justice organizations.
Bubba Wallace Shares His Biggest NASCAR Win With His Wife and Son
Bubba Wallace celebrated the most significant victory of his NASCAR Cup Series career in the most heartfelt way possible, sharing the moment with his wife, Amanda Carter, and their young son, Becks.
On Sunday, he triumphed in a thrilling finish at the Brickyard 400, holding off Kyle Larson in the final laps to snap a 100-race winless streak.
The race was far from easy, as he battled late restarts, a rain delay, and fuel concerns before finally crossing the finish line at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Overcome with emotion, Wallace immediately thanked his team and fans before calling out to his family.
I don’t see my wife and my kid, but welcome to Victory Lane, Becks. That’s pretty cool. Officially, Daytona was Daytona, but to overcome so much, thank you. And to put these people here in Victory Lane, that’s what it’s about. It’s about these people that continue to push in me, believe in me. And man, just so proud. I appreciate all you guys. Thank you.

Moments later, his wife, Amanda, greeted and embraced him, tears welling up in her eyes.
Wallace then lifted his son high in the air, soaking in the cheers from the crowd. The victory was not just a professional milestone but a deeply personal one for the family.
He reflected on the challenges he’s faced when asked what the win meant to him.
Unbelievable. To win here at the Brickyard — knowing how big this race is, knowing all the noise that’s going on in the background — to set that all aside is a testament to these people here on this 23 team. It’s been getting old running on the cut line.
Bubba Wallace
Despite outside criticism during his winless streak, he remained unfazed.
It don’t matter. I’m already winning at life. I got the best wife, the best kid. People are always going to say something. I am excited to see how far the goalposts move, so I get to go and chase that now.

Bubba Wallace’s Priorities Shifted After the Birth of His Son
Bubba Wallace has long been known for his unwavering dedication to NASCAR, but the birth of his son, Becks Hayden, in September 2024 marked a profound shift in his perspective.
His commitment to the sport was put to the test when Amanda went into labor just one day before the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.
Despite the timing, Wallace stuck to his original plan and raced in Kansas while Amanda gave birth back home in North Carolina.
After qualifying, he returned to compete and finished 17th. Immediately after the race, he rushed back to meet his newborn son for the first time.
We talked about the scenario for months and we both settled on not missing a race. So it is what it is. I’ve been there every day for him as a father now. That’s all that matters.
Bubba Wallace
Though his NASCAR career remains a priority, Wallace admits that fatherhood has reshaped his outlook.
He reflected on the changes, saying, “Coming into this year, we’ve had a lot of good things happen off the racetrack. Baby boy being born.“
So it’s a nice perspective shift, a mentality shift to where — I say this in the most positive way — but nothing else matters anymore besides being a great father, being a great husband, being a great family man. Everything else kind of settles in second. And I think prior to that, it was always racing first. And I’ve missed out on a lot of good memories and opportunities by putting that first, and causing a lot of stress from within or the people surrounding me. I don’t hate to say it, but it took having a kid to realize there’s so much more to life.
