Brooks Robinson Brother: Was He Related To Frank Robinson?

This article was last updated by on

The American professional baseball third baseman, the late Brooks Robinson, is often confused as the brother of the fellow baseball outfielder late, Frank Robinson.

However, Brooks is not related to the MLB legend Frank Robinson. He grew up in Arkansas with three siblings: two brothers and a sister.

The Orioles legend Brooks passed away at the age of 86. The Baltimore Orioles announced the demise of the legendary baseball star with a statement on Tuesday.

Late Brooks Calbert Robinson Jr. spent his whole playing career (1955–1977) with the Baltimore Orioles.

He was known as “Mr. Hoover” or “the Human Vacuum Cleaner” and is widely regarded as the best defensive third baseman in major league history.

An 18-time All-Star, Robinson won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, setting a record later tied by Jim Kaat and broken by Greg Maddux.

Moreover, what had previously been one of the weaker major league clubs was revitalized in large part thanks to Brooks.

He became the team’s focal point as they amassed the greatest record in the major leagues from 1965 through 1974, winning four American League (AL) pennants and two World Series championships.

Later, long after his retirement, Robinson made it into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983 in his first year of eligibility.

Following his playing career, he served as an Orioles’ broadcaster and joined Opening Day Partners, which owns several minor league teams.

Brooks Robinson Brother

There is no information available regarding the brother of Brooks Robinson.

However, some sources claim that the legendary baseball player has three siblings, including two brothers.

Gary Robinson and Ronnie Robinson are the brothers of the late MLB legend.
Moreover, his sister’s name is mentioned to be Carol Sue Robinson.

Other than that, Brooks had not disclosed the whereabouts of his siblings.

Robinson was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Brooks Calberts and Ethel Mae.

His father worked for Colonial Bakery in Little Rock before being a Little Rock Fire Department captain.

Meanwhile, his mother worked for Sears Roebuck and Company before accepting a position with the state controller’s office.

Was He Related To Frank Robinson?

The late Frank Robinson was born in Beaumont, Texas, in 1935.

People often confuse him as the brother of the late Brooks Robinson. However, Frank and Brooks are not the biological brothers.

Other than that, the MLB legends shared the same platform for many years and got very close in their playing years and later as well.

Frank played for the Baltimore Orioles from 1966 to 1971 and shares the same interest with his teammate and brother Brooks Robinson.

Brooks Robinson welcomed Frank Robinson, and the two worked together to create a championship baseball team.

The pair demonstrated cooperation and racial peace, inspiring a winning attitude amid the turbulent 1960s.

The Robinsons set the bar for true friendship by treating one another with the utmost respect and affection, which elevated their team and period.
