Gage Wood, an amazing baseball pitcher currently playing for the University of Arkansas’ Razorbacks, is making parents, family, and loved ones proud with his rising career.
Arkansas pitcher Gage Wood recently had a career-best performance, leading the team to a 3-0 victory over Murray State in a College World Series elimination game on Monday.
He nearly threw the first perfect game in College World Series history, setting down the first 21 batters, the longest perfect-game bid in the CWS since 1999.
Furthermore, Wood also threw a no-hitter, which is the third ever in the CWS, and first since 1960, and also the 9th no-hitter of the NCAA Tournament.
However, Gage Wood’s remarkable performance was not the only thing that grasped people’s attention in the game; his respect for his parents also won the hearts of millions.
After leading his team to victory, Gage Wood gave his stepfather, Brian Gould, the best Father’s Day gift, which was his ball from the final out of his no-hitter.

Gage Wood was born to his mother, Chasity Gould, in Batesville, Arkansas. No information is available about his biological father; however, Gage often expresses his love and respect for his stepfather, Brian Gould.
Gage Wood Proudly Says Parents Chasity And Brian Gould Mean Everything To His Baseball Journey
After a heartwarming moment with his father in Omaha, Nebraska, Gage Wood was asked what his parents, especially his dad, meant to his baseball journey. He proudly responded, “Everything.”
In an interview, Gage Wood said that when he was just a little baby, his father, Brian Gould, took him to watch men’s league softball games, instilling in him the passion and love for sports from a very young age.
He further added,
“All the guys out there, you know, they would play catch with me or throw to me and I would swing his big softball bat the best I could and I just grew up around it.”
Gage Wood also stated that his dad, Brian, coached his Little League games, and every day, he would take him to the field to hit batting practice early in the morning. As a result, he began loving baseball ever since.
Furthermore, Gage Wood’s parents, Chasity and Brian Gould, have been happily married for 19 years. They tied the knot on April 20, 2006.
While not much is known about Gage Wood’s mother, Chasity Gould, and her professional life, since she prefers to maintain a low profile, some of her Facebook post suggests she works in the medical field.
Talking about his father, Brian Gould, a native of Batesville, Arkansas, was born to his parents, Joe and Martha Gould.
Not much is known about his professional life; however, Brian Gould’s social media displays that he worked in a fire department.
