Andrew Vaughn, an American professional baseball first baseman for the Milwaukee Brewers, credits his athletic success to his parents, Diana and Toby.

His parents raised him in a close-knit family alongside his sister, Madison, in Santa Rosa, California.

Andrew Vaughn began playing baseball at Maria Carrillo High School and enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley to play college baseball for the California Golden Bears.

As a sophomore, he won the Pac-12 Conference Baseball Player of the Year Award and the Golden Spikes Award in 2018. Likewise, Perfect Game/Rawlings named him their National Player of the Year.

The Chicago White Sox selected him with the third overall pick in the 2019 MLB draft and assigned him to the Rookie-level Arizona League White Sox.

Later, he was promoted to the Kannapolis Intimidators and then the Winston-Salem Dash.

After an injury to left fielder Eloy Jiménez, the White Sox added him to their 40-man roster to include him on their Opening Day roster.

On April 2, 2021, Andrew made his MLB debut as the starting left fielder against the Los Angeles Angels and hit his first major league home run off of J. A. Happ of the Minnesota Twins.

He played 48 games in 2025 but was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers on June 13, 2025.

I think he was excited about it. He’s not having a great early season for us so far, so hopefully he’ll get himself on track and maybe come up with us. We’re looking to get him on track hitting right now and then we’ll figure out a way. When he’s one of our nine hitters, we’ll figure out the rest. But he’s got to go down there and play well.

He has always credited his success to his loving and supportive parents, and they have been his unwavering foundation through every high and low of his journey.

Andrew shared a special bond with his father while growing up, and his father introduced him to fishing. They still enjoy fishing together as a hobby.

Those quiet moments by the water strengthened their relationship and also provided balance away from the baseball field.

The MLB star often expresses gratitude for his parents on social media, sharing glimpses of family moments that highlight their close-knit bond.
